Pietra Alba as a kitchen splashback

Pietra Alba Marble-Look Tile forms the kitchen splashback in this photograph. It runs behind the bench and up to the sill of the window above, then carries further up the wall to the left of the window. Brushed brass tapware and a pale benchtop sit in front of it.

Few joints, long diagonal veining

The grey veins run on a diagonal and cross each other in long, open lines, so the pattern travels upward across the wall rather than sitting still. Joints are set well apart, one passing to the left of the tap, which leaves most of the splashback reading as a single field. The ground is a warm off-white rather than a cool blue-white, and the brushed brass reads warm against it.

At splashback scale this reads as a stone surface rather than as a set of tiles, because the veining is long enough to cross the whole run. Colour and finish shift under different light, so it is worth checking a physical sample beside your bench.
