White tiles
29 tilesAbout White tiles
Twenty-nine white tiles, delivered Australia-wide: marble-look, stone-look and terrazzo-look porcelain from 300 × 600 to 600 × 1200 mm, ceramic subway tiles and a 300 × 600 mm gloss white wall tile, and eleven mosaic sheets with pieces down to 12.8 × 95 mm fingers. Every tile has an A$3 sample piece. Whites differ in warmth and brightness more than a screen shows, so compare two or three in your own light.
White wall tiles
Six of the whites are grouped as wall tiles by format. Five are ceramic subway tiles: Studio Wave, Studio Crest Wave and Studio Flat at 75 × 300 mm, and Studio Chalk and Studio Linen at 100 × 300 mm. The sixth is Studio Pure White, a rectified 300 × 600 mm wall tile. Chalk, Wave, Crest Wave and Pure White record gloss, Linen records matt, and Studio Flat is offered in gloss or matt. Two installed rooms, Studio Chalk across bathroom walls and Studio Flat on a vanity wall, record where the supplier's clients placed them.
White floor tiles: what the slip class records
The finish word alone does not answer whether a white tile can go on a floor. The recorded AS 4586 slip class is the figure to check, and it is only one part of the answer. Twelve white tiles record one: P3 on Pietra Alba, Atlas Frost, Haven White and Haven Fine White, and P2 on the other eight white Pietra marble looks. No gloss white tile here records a class, and matt alone does not mean one is recorded. Several Pietra pages list a polished face beside another, and the record does not say which face the class refers to. The values are from the supplier's current documentation; we do not hold the underlying test reports, and a recorded class is not approval for a particular floor. Two installed floors, Haven White in a living room and Haven Fine White in an oak kitchen, record where the supplier's clients laid them, not where a tile may be used.
White square, large-format and marble-look tiles
Ten whites come in 600 × 600 mm: Pietra Perla, Luna, Alba, Neve, Bianco, Cream and Latte, Atlas Frost, Haven White and Haven Fine White. Six come in 600 × 1200 mm: Pietra Vela, Vela Fluted, Perla, Luna and Alba, and Atlas Frost. The nine white Pietra tiles are marble-look porcelain; the real marble here is five Carrara mosaic sheets, Petite Herringbone, Stack, Large Hexagon, Fan and Round. Nine tiles here say Carrara. Five of them are marble. sorts out the names.
White mosaic tiles
The eleven white mosaic sheets are herringbone on three, hexagon on two, and one sheet each of strip, stack, fan, round, square and finger. Five are natural marble, four ceramic and two porcelain. The mosaic tiles collection sets out all twelve sheets on the site by shape and material.
