About Large format tiles

Thirty-six large-format porcelain tiles, delivered Australia-wide: thirty-four come in 600 × 600 mm and twelve in 600 × 1200 mm, and most are offered in two sizes. All are 10 mm thick, in marble, stone, concrete, travertine and terrazzo looks. Every tile has an A$3 sample piece; a sample shows the face and finish, not the whole tile's pattern.

How large is a large format tile?

There is no single definition. How large is a large format tile? Three definitions, and the thirty-six here sets out what the term is taken to mean and where the tiles here sit. The grouping follows recorded tile dimensions, not a claim about material or intended application.

600 × 1200 mm tiles

Twelve come in 600 × 1200 mm: Pietra Vela, Vela Fluted, Perla, Luna, Alba, Dove, Shadow and Smoke; Atlas Frost and Atlas Ivory; and Coastal Alabaster and Coastal Ivory. Pietra Vela and Vela Fluted are offered only in that size. One 600 × 1200 mm tile covers 0.72 m² and leaves about 2.5 m of joint per square metre. 600 × 1200 mm tiles: 12 compared sets the twelve side by side.

600 × 600 mm tiles

Thirty-four of the thirty-six come in 600 × 600 mm, every tile here except Pietra Vela and Vela Fluted. Eighteen of them are also offered in 300 × 600 mm. A 600 × 600 mm tile covers 0.36 m² and leaves about 3.3 m of joint per square metre. 600 × 600 mm tiles: 34 compared and 300 × 600 mm tiles: 19 compared take one size each; the nineteenth in the 300 × 600 mm guide is a ceramic wall tile outside this group.

Large porcelain tiles by look and colour

All thirty-six record porcelain: fourteen marble looks, six stone looks, six concrete looks, five travertine looks and five terrazzo looks. Fourteen are grey, twelve white, eight beige and two charcoal.

Large format floor tiles: what the slip class records

All thirty-six record a class on the AS 4586 scale: P3 on twenty-three, P2 on ten of the marble looks and P5 on the three Ridge tiles. Each product page records one class for the tile as a whole and does not tie the class to a finish. The values are from the supplier's current documentation and we do not hold the underlying test reports; a recorded class is a reference value, not approval for a particular floor.

Common questions

How many large format tiles do I need?

The tile calculator turns your measurements into a count of whole tiles, and How many tiles in a box, and how many per square metre? lists every size here.

Is every tile here suitable for my project?

This page can't answer that. This is a selection group, not an application-suitability determination. Use the individual product record as the specification source and confirm project requirements with the responsible installer or specifier before ordering.
