Travertine look tiles
5 tilesAbout Travertine look tiles
Five travertine-look porcelain tiles, delivered Australia-wide: Coastal Alabaster, Coastal Ivory and Coastal Dune in beige, and Coastal Mist and Coastal Stone in grey, all matt and 10 mm thick, in 300 × 600, 600 × 600 and 600 × 1200 mm. Every tile has an A$3 sample piece, so you can see the grain in your own light before ordering.
Travertine look, not travertine
Travertine-look tiles carry the appearance of travertine, a natural limestone, on a tile; they are not stone. All five record Porcelain as their material. The tiles on this site that record a natural stone are covered in The five tiles here that are actually stone, and none of them is travertine. Travertine or travertine look? explains the difference between the stone and the look.
Beige and grey travertine-look tiles
All five come in 600 × 600 mm. Coastal Alabaster and Coastal Ivory, both recorded as beige, also come in 600 × 1200 mm and record a vein-cut grain; on Coastal Ivory it runs the length of the tile. Coastal Dune (beige), Coastal Mist and Coastal Stone (both grey) also come in 300 × 600 mm and record no vein-cut grain: their pages describe soft movement, gentle variation and a composed matt face. Travertine-look tiles: 5 faces compared, vein-cut grain to joint count sets them side by side, row by row. The three beige faces also sit in beige tiles and the two grey ones in grey tiles.
Travertine-look floor tiles: what the slip class records
All five record P3 on the AS 4586 scale; each product page records one class for the tile as a whole. A recorded class is the value the supplier's documentation holds, not a test report we hold, and it is not approval for a particular floor. Confirm the required specification for your project with the responsible installer or specifier. Tile slip ratings: what P3, P4 and R10 mean explains the scale.
Common questions
Do travertine-look tiles need sealing?
The product records here do not state a sealing or care method. Check the supplier documentation for one and confirm it with your installer before installation.
How many travertine-look tiles do I need?
A 600 × 600 mm tile covers 0.36 m², about 2.8 tiles per square metre before cuts, and a 600 × 1200 mm tile 0.72 m², about 1.4. The tile calculator turns your measurements into a count of whole tiles.
Is every tile here suitable for my floor?
This page can't answer that. This is a selection group, not an application-suitability determination. Use the individual product record as the specification source and confirm project requirements with the responsible installer or specifier.
