Short answer: Across the nine Australian online tile shops we checked on 27 September 2026 and again on 9 October 2026, with five of them re-read on 21 October 2026, tile delivery is priced in four different ways: a flat rate by area, a rate by weight, a charge per pallet, or a quote worked out at checkout. Published starting rates range from $35, Tilekind's rate for up to 35 kg in Greater Melbourne, to $144.95, National Tiles' metro pallet rate, leaving aside National Tiles' $10 parcel rate for up to 15 kg; some shops show no figure until checkout, and only one offers free tile delivery above a set order value, in a limited area. Most stop at the kerb or driveway; two will place the pallet on the property, such as in a garage or carport, where access allows, and a third shop's pages now disagree on where its delivery stops.
Tiles are heavy, arrive on a pallet and are usually carried by a freight company rather than a courier, so delivery is priced differently from most online shopping. The shops' pages look similar at first glance and turn out to work quite differently. This page puts their published terms side by side, in their own figures, so you know what to expect before you reach checkout. Tilekind is one of the nine, and our terms are in the same tables. All prices are in Australian dollars.
1. How each shop prices tile delivery
| Shop | How the charge is set | Published starting point | Free delivery on tiles |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beaumont Tiles | A table by delivery method and zone, worked out at checkout from the order's weight, product type and location; temporary freight surcharges may apply in some areas | $120 per pallet for orders over 200 kg in metro areas, $175 in outer metro, $350 regional and $650 remote; standard delivery for 5 to 200 kg from $50 in metro areas, $70, $150 and $300 in the other three zones; express courier from $80 and pickup-point delivery from $30, both for up to 200 kg | Not stated |
| Future Tile | A live freight quote at checkout, with a choice of depot, site or business delivery | No figure before checkout | Not stated |
| National Tiles | Per pallet space, worked out at checkout from the items and postcode | $144.95 per pallet in metro VIC, NSW, SA, QLD, ACT and TAS; $10 per parcel up to 15 kg; metro WA and NT and regional areas by customer service or the local store | Not stated |
| The Tile Collective | By weight and destination, shown in the cart | From $49 | Not stated |
| TileCloud | A table by state and zone; any order with tiles goes at the bulky freight rate | $70 in metro NSW; metro QLD and VIC $70 on its delivery page and $90 in the delivery FAQ shown at its checkout; $90 to $205 in non-metro zones; regional from $155 to from $275, by zone | None for tiles |
| Tilemall | Worked out online from pallet or parcel size, weight and postcode | No figure before checkout | On orders of $1,600 or more to qualifying Sydney metro postcodes; elsewhere, $150 off the delivery charge on orders of $1,600 or more |
| TileTouch | A flat rate by state, area and order size | From $80 for a small Sydney Metro order; $125 to $390 elsewhere, by area and size | Not stated |
| Tile Lane | By weight and destination, with a flat rate for Sydney Metro | $85 flat in Sydney Metro | Not stated |
| Tilekind | By the total weight of the order and the destination: by state, with Victoria split by postcode into Greater Melbourne, Geelong and the rest of the state | Up to 35 kg: $35 in Greater Melbourne, $60 around Geelong, $70 in the rest of VIC, $50 in ACT, NSW, QLD and SA, $90 in TAS and $110 in WA and NT; one pallet, over 200 kg and up to 1,000 kg, $150 to $955 by area; a few remote postcodes and islands quoted separately or surcharged | None; $100 off orders of $1,500 or more |
A starting figure is not the whole price. Several of these rates are per pallet, per order size or per zone, so a large order, a second pallet or an address outside a metro area can cost more. Where a shop shows no figure until checkout, the only way to know the charge is to enter your postcode there.
2. Where the delivery stops
Most shops in the table deliver to the kerb or driveway; two will place the pallet further onto the property where access allows, one shop's pages now disagree on it, and none carries tiles inside as standard. The wording differs, and the differences matter if your unloading point is not a flat driveway.
| Shop | Where the driver stops, as stated |
|---|---|
| Beaumont Tiles | Its shipping policy says deliveries are made by forklift to the curbside only, though for smaller orders drivers may go further at their discretion; its home delivery page still says a forklift can offload to your delivery location, at ground floor level only, with at least 2.5 m of clear access asked for |
| Future Tile | A tailgate truck lowers the pallet; the driver brings it into your driveway or garage, but no further |
| National Tiles | Unloaded by all-terrain forklift onto private property, such as a garage, carport, driveway or patio; not onto footpaths or nature strips; no hand unloading |
| The Tile Collective | On a pallet to the kerb or driveway; drivers cannot hand unload |
| TileCloud | To the kerb by tail-lift truck or forklift; the driver may not move the goods past that point |
| Tilemall | At ground level, such as the kerb, driveway entrance or front of the property, by tailgate truck; indoor delivery and stairs not included as standard, though indoor delivery or placement may be available as a paid extra, arranged in writing before dispatch |
| TileTouch | The nearest accessible point, the kerb or driveway, by tail-lift truck; drivers cannot carry tiles inside or upstairs |
| Tile Lane | To the kerb by tail-lift truck or forklift; the driver cannot move the goods past that point |
| Tilekind | The kerb or driveway at your unloading point; drivers do not carry tiles inside, upstairs or past that point |
Where shops give a reason, it is usually insurance or workplace safety; others cite the weight of the tiles or avoiding damage to property. Whoever is laying the tiles, or someone helping, moves them from there. If the street is narrow, the driveway is steep or there is no vehicle access at all, tell the shop before you order; several ask for exactly that.
3. How long it takes
| Shop | Dispatch | Transit or delivery time, as stated |
|---|---|---|
| Beaumont Tiles | Not stated separately | Estimated at 6 to 8 business days for every state on the product page read, a special-order tile; its terms say any delivery date is an estimate only |
| Future Tile | Not stated | Shown next to each option at checkout, as carrier estimates |
| National Tiles | Not stated separately for online orders; for in-store orders, in stock 1 to 3 days and special orders up to 10 weeks | Metro 4 to 12 business days; regional 5 to 15 |
| The Tile Collective | Within 2 business days of payment, if in stock | Not stated |
| TileCloud | 1 to 3 business days | 5 to 7 working days in NSW metro and non-metro areas; up to 7 to 14 elsewhere |
| Tilemall | On a dispatch date you choose | Not stated; the arrival date shown is a guide |
| TileTouch | 24 to 48 business hours, plus 48 for orders with several tile types | 3 to 5 business days in NSW and VIC; up to 7 to 12 in WA, NT and TAS |
| Tile Lane | Within 2 business days | Allow up to 10 working days |
| Tilekind | Within 3 business days | 2 to 4 business days in VIC; up to 7 to 12 in WA, NT and TAS |
Most of the shops say their dates are estimates rather than promises, and Tilekind's are too. If a date matters, because a tiler is booked, ask the shop when you order rather than relying on the typical figure.
4. What to check before you order
- The delivered cost for your postcode and your order size. A published "from" price is the smallest order to the cheapest area. Enter your postcode, or ask, before comparing tile prices.
- Whether free delivery applies to you. At the one shop that offers it on tiles, it depends on the order value and on where you are.
- Where the delivery stops. Kerb, driveway or garage, and whether anyone will carry the tiles further.
- Access. Truck length, forklift access, slopes, steps and parking. Several shops ask about these; answering early avoids a failed delivery.
- What happens if no one is there. Some shops charge for a second attempt.
- Delivery dates as estimates. Plan the tiler's start date with a margin.
For comparing the whole cost of the same tile between shops, buying tiles online in Australia works through area, boxes and delivery together. The price per square metre at the same nine shops is in tile prices in Australia.
5. Where Tilekind sits
We are one of the nine, so this section is ours to write and yours to check against the tables. Tilekind prices delivery by the total weight of the tiles in the order and by state, with Victoria split by postcode into Greater Melbourne, the Geelong area and the rest of the state. Up to 35 kg, about one 30 kg box, it is $35 in Greater Melbourne, $60 around Geelong, $70 in the rest of VIC, $50 in ACT, NSW, QLD and SA, $90 in TAS and $110 in WA and NT. Over 35 kg and up to 200 kg, about two to six 30 kg boxes, it rises in steps at 70 kg, 130 kg and 200 kg: $45, $45 and $95 in Greater Melbourne, $115, $210 and $260 around Geelong, $135, $250 and $320 in the rest of VIC, $90, $150 and $205 in ACT, NSW, QLD and SA, $155, $255 and $400 in TAS, and $155, $235 and $290 in WA and NT. Over 200 kg and up to 1,000 kg, which travels as one pallet, it is $150 in Greater Melbourne, $290 around Geelong, $650 in the rest of VIC, $385 in ACT, NSW, QLD and SA, $955 in TAS and $685 in WA and NT; two pallets, up to 2,000 kg, are $179, $560, $1,250, $830, $2,060 and $1,475 in the same order, and three, up to 3,000 kg, are $259, $830, $1,850, $1,275, $3,170 and $2,265. Larger orders are quoted. The full table and a state-by-state estimator are on our delivery page.
On the figures above, several shops can cost less to deliver a pallet-sized order to some metro areas. In metro NSW, TileCloud's $70, Tile Lane's $85 in Sydney Metro, Beaumont Tiles' $120 metro pallet rate and National Tiles' $144.95 metro pallet rate are all below our one-pallet rate of $385 in ACT, NSW, QLD and SA. Beaumont Tiles' $120 and National Tiles' $144.95 are also below our $955 in TAS. In Greater Melbourne our one-pallet rate is $150: above Beaumont Tiles' $120 metro pallet rate, National Tiles' $144.95 and TileCloud's metro VIC rate of $70 on its delivery page, or $90 in its checkout FAQ. Around Geelong it is $290 and in the rest of VIC $650, against Beaumont Tiles' $175 outer metro, $350 regional and $650 remote pallet rates. Tilemall is the only one of the nine with free tile delivery above an order value, from $1,600 to qualifying Sydney metro postcodes, with $150 off delivery elsewhere at that value. For orders up to 130 kg, our Greater Melbourne rates of $35 to $45 are below The Tile Collective's starting rate of $49, the lowest figure it publishes, and our $50 for up to 35 kg in ACT, NSW, QLD and SA matches Beaumont Tiles' $50 metro standard rate for 5 to 200 kg. Above 35 kg, outside Greater Melbourne, Beaumont Tiles' $50 is below our $90 to $400. Our rates are published for every state and territory, as TileTouch's are, and apply across each state, with Victoria split three ways by postcode, though a few remote postcodes and islands are quoted separately or carry a surcharge, and the final charge is shown at checkout. None of our tile delivery rates is free; orders of $1,500 or more get $100 off at checkout instead. Which of those matters depends on the size of your order and where it is going.
Is tile delivery free in Australia?
Not usually. Of the nine shops checked here, one offers free delivery on tiles above an order value: Tilemall, from $1,600 to qualifying Sydney metro postcodes, with $150 off delivery elsewhere at that value. Tilekind takes $100 off orders of $1,500 or more instead.
Will the driver carry tiles into the house?
Not as standard at any of the nine, going by their published terms. Standard deliveries stop at the kerb, the driveway or, at two shops, a spot on the property such as a garage, carport or patio, and drivers do not carry tiles inside or upstairs. Tilemall says indoor delivery or placement may be available as a paid extra, arranged in writing before dispatch.
Why do some shops show no delivery price until checkout?
Because the charge depends on the size and weight of the order and on the address, and those shops quote each order from those details. The figure appears once your cart and postcode are entered.

6. Where these facts come from
Every figure for another shop comes from that shop's own delivery or shipping page, its terms of sale or a product page, read on 27 September 2026 and read again on 9 October 2026; Beaumont Tiles, TileCloud, TileTouch, Tile Lane and The Tile Collective were read again on 21 October 2026, and Beaumont Tiles' rates are from that reading; nothing was taken from a cart or checkout, except the one TileCloud figure noted below. Where a shop's pages gave two versions of the same figure, we used the one on the page the site itself links to and note the main differences here: TileTouch's linked shipping page starts from $80, while a second shipping policy on the same site starts from $65; Tile Lane's FAQ and product pages give $85 for Sydney Metro, while its home page gives $70; and Beaumont Tiles' shipping policy says delivery is to the curbside only, while its home delivery page still speaks of a forklift offloading to your delivery location; and TileCloud's delivery page gives $70 for metro QLD and VIC, while the delivery FAQ shown at its checkout on 13 October 2026 gives $90. Tilekind's figures are the rates on our own delivery page and shipping policy; our delivery moved from bands by order value to rates by weight in October 2026. Shops change their terms, so the shop's own page is the one to rely on when you order. If a shop's terms have changed, or we have misread them, email sales@tilekind.com.au and we will correct the tables.
Not included: Bunnings, whose pages our check could not load on 27 September 2026.
